Outside of watching Unwrapped on the Food Network, it’s not every day that you get to see where and how your favorite snacks are made. Recently, a group of gals from FRWD got the chance to step into our own Food Network episode, touring the BOOMCHICKAPOP® plant in Mankato, MN. Most of what we saw is top secret (Shhh!), but we can tell you about some tidbits of info that we learned about our fantastical client:
- More than 200,000 bags of BOOM are produced each day at the Mankato factory alone.
- Precise humidity levels in the factory vary from room to room, ensuring that BOOM is of outstanding quality. The factory takes this very seriously and will even shut down if the humidity levels are off.
- BOOM’s secret ingredient (other than magic, of course) is music—loud music. Upon entering, we immediately heard the likes of TSwift and Becky G.
- Nothing beats the taste of freshly popped BOOM. We were all unanimous on that one.
Although we couldn’t take any pictures inside the plant, we were able to snap one after our tour. (Just don’t make fun of our hair nets and chic plant-wear!)
Thank you to everyone at BOOM! We had a blast on your stomping grounds, and even made a pit stop at Minnesota’s Largest Candy Store on the way home:
